Jordan Tanner psychiatric nurse practitioner in california

Jordan W. Tanner, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Choosing a mental health provider is one of the most personal decisions you can make. My goal is simple: to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood from the very first conversation.

I'm Jordan Tanner, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of healthcare experience caring for individuals during some of life's most difficult moments. Throughout my career, I've learned that every person's story is unique, and meaningful healing begins with genuine connection—not quick fixes or one-size-fits-all treatment.

Through telehealth services with Still Harbor Psychiatric Nursing, I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, substance use concerns, and other mental health challenges. I believe the best outcomes come through collaboration, thoughtful listening, and shared decision-making, where you remain an active partner in your care every step of the way.

Whether you're seeking answers for the first time or looking for a fresh approach after feeling unheard elsewhere, my commitment is to meet you where you are with empathy, honesty, and practical solutions tailored to your individual needs.

Everyone deserves a place where they feel safe enough to heal. Welcome to Still Harbor.

My Approach

My approach begins with understanding your concerns, history, and goals. From there, we work collaboratively to develop and refine an individualized plan of care.

  • Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation: A detailed assessment of your symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, previous treatment experiences, current circumstances, and personal goals.
  • Diagnostic Assessment: Careful consideration of your symptoms and history to clarify potential diagnoses and identify factors that may be affecting your mental health.
  • Collaborative Treatment Planning: Development of an individualized treatment plan based on your needs, preferences, clinical presentation, and treatment goals.
  • Medication Management: Thoughtful and conservative prescribing when medication is appropriate, with careful consideration of potential benefits, risks, alternatives, side effects, and interactions.
  • Psychoeducation: Clear information about your symptoms, diagnosis, medications, and treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your care.
  • Supportive Therapy and Practical Strategies: Supportive interventions, problem-solving, and coping strategies intended to improve symptom management and daily functioning.
  • Ongoing Monitoring and Follow-Up: Regular evaluation of treatment response, progress, medication tolerability, and changing needs, with adjustments made when clinically appropriate.

At Still Harbor, you can expect evidence-informed care, open communication, and shared decision-making throughout each stage of treatment.
